Over the past ten years, Musicbboard has been able to help pave the way for diversity-orientated, inclusive and content-based music funding. In 2023, more than 100 scholarships, residencies and support tour funds were awarded to talented Berlin artists. With festival collaborations, the diverse residency programme and in particular the two-way co-creation residencies, international networking also played a major role this year. And numerous players in the creative industries, such as promoters, labels and music venues, have once again benefited from the Musicboard’s project and label funding.
The year 2023 was a special one for Musicboard, not only because it marked its tenth anniversary, which was celebrated in May with partners, friends and supporters at silent green. It was also the last year as Managing Director for Katja Lucker, who set up the Musicboard and has managed it ever since. At the end of the year, she was bid farewell with huge thanks for her achievements as Managing Director.
