At Berlin Outbound – International Pop Exchange on 28 August 2024, you can take a deep dive into these topics. This new pilot programme from Musicboard Berlin is geared towards up-and-coming and established musicians and their professional teams as well as players from the music industry who want to develop their careers and networks internationally. Apply by 25 July 2024 for one of 50 available spots!
Berlin Outbound will take place on Wednesday, 28 August 2024 from 9:30 to 16:30 at the Kulturbrauerei Berlin – on the opening day of Pop-Kultur. In the creative atmosphere of Musicboard’s annual festival, Berlin Outbound offers specialised mentoring sessions, talks with experts, and networking. This platform offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with a delegation of ten international experts active in the fields of festivals and booking. Among them are:

- Eddie Hatitye, ACCESS / Music In Africa Foundation, South Africa
- Katrine Friis Sønderby, Spot Festival, Denmark
- Muthoni Ndonga, Blankets & Wine / Muthoni Drummer Queen, Kenya

- Roxane Dumoulain, ATC Live, France
- Simen Korneliussen, Vill Vill Vest, Norway
The programme is rounded off by Berlin-based speakers who in recent years have proven themselves with their internationally successful work.
The focus will be on interaction and personal exchange at eye level, enabling long-lasting connections between the Berlin music scene and international representatives. Details of the programme will be announced in late July. Participants will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Pop-Kultur festival programme over the following days.

- Access to an international network
- Pop-Kultur festival pass (28–30 August 2024) and invitation to the Pop-Kultur opening on 28 August 2024

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN TO:
- Musicians and bands from the field of pop music who live and work in Berlin. Musicboard defines pop music as all genres and styles that cannot be clearly categorised as classical, new music, or jazz. This includes all forms of genre-spanning and experimental pop music.
- Music professionals based in Berlin: management, labels, publishers, booking agents, etc.
- Teams – comprising one musician with one person from their professional team.
This event is aimed at musicians who have already released music, have touring experience, have already established professional relationships (e.g. management, label, booking), or successfully manage themselves. It is also aimed at professionals and musicians with international experience who want to expand their knowledge and networks.
